Assembling the Bamboo Mat Large is easy and quick, even for beginners. Follow these tips to attach your bamboo mat firmly and neatly.

1. Recognize the Top and Bottom
   With a Large bamboo mat, it is important to distinguish the top from the bottom. You can recognize the top by the naturally closed bamboo poles. Make sure that the mat is placed with the closed side facing up. This prevents rainwater and dirt from getting stuck in the bamboo poles, which extends the life of the mat.
2. Avoid prolonged contact with wet soil
   Always place the bamboo mat at least 2 cm from the ground. This prevents the mat from being in contact with wet ground for a long time, which can cause black discolouration over time. For example, use a side board as a base for the bamboo mat, so that it remains stable and dry and you can immediately level it properly.

Mounting against wooden fence or wall

Attaching a bamboo mat to a wooden fence is easy:

• Drill 4mm holes through the bamboo sticks. Do this every 20cm horizontally.
• Fix the mat with screws (4 x 50 mm)
• Screw the bamboo mat to the top, middle and bottom for maximum stability.
• Please note: fixed is fixed! Make sure you determine the position correctly before placing the screws.

Mounting against a mesh panel or steel fence

To attach a bamboo mat to a mesh panel or fence, you can use binding wires ortie-wrapsuse. Follow these steps:

• Wrap the binding wires or tie-wraps around the galvanized steel wire that runs through the bamboo mat.
• Pull the wire ties tightly to the mesh panel or fence for a secure attachment.

Shortening Bamboo Mat

A major advantage of the Large bamboo mat is that it is easy to cut to size:

• Shorten width:Loosen the galvanized steel wires on the side and remove the excess bamboo sticks. Fold the iron wires back around the remaining sticks and secure them again.
• Adjust height:Simply cut the bamboo sticks at the bottom with a saw, preferably a Japanese saw.
  Tip: To prevent fraying, you can first cover the sticks with tape.
