Our bamboo slats are made of high-quality bamboo species: the Indonesian Tali (natural in colour), Java Black (dark brown in colour), and the strongest South American bamboo species Guadua. These bamboo species are known for their excellent construction properties and have an outer layer that is easy to varnish, oil or paint.

In the production of our bamboo slats, thick, round bamboo poles are sawn into equal strips over the entire length. The slats are then sanded on the sides so that they are nice and straight, while the natural look of the outer layer is retained.

Our bamboo slats are perfect for various applications such as wall cladding, ceiling cladding, furniture, and much more.

Different types of bamboo slats

Many different types of bamboo slats are offered. We can divide these into 2 groups:

The bamboo slat in natural form

different ways. The bamboo slats Tali and Java are made using a splitter; this is a star-shaped metal tube through which the bamboo pole is pushed. Because the bamboo pole is hollow, it is split into slats. After splitting, the slats are run through a planer to remove the nodes.

The other method is applied to the Guadua bamboo slats; these are run through a sawing machine. The slats are thus sawn from a pole, after which the nodes are removed. These slats are often straighter and dimensionally stable. If you want to make a bamboo slat wall, these connect nicely.

Bamboo slats made from pressed bamboo

Another option are bamboo slats, made from laminated or pressed bamboo. We also see this method of production with our bamboo plywood or decking boards. Bamboo slats produced in this way are often somewhat more expensive, but dimensionally stable and look much more like wooden slats.

If you want a beautiful wall with a natural appearance that really stands out, consider a bamboo slat wall. The thin slats can be easily mounted on a wall by shooting them on with nails or gluing them in place. You can mount the bamboo slats both horizontally and vertically, which will give a different look.

The bamboo slats are delivered loose and if you want to make wainscoting from them, you can buy more. Assume 3.5 to 4 cm width per piece to calculate how many slats you need. The bamboo slats are easy to saw to size with a sharp saw with fine teeth.

If you want a different look, you can also choose half-round bamboo poles, bamboo plywood or bamboo fencing rolls.

What can you make with bamboo slats?

Bamboo slats in their natural form can be used for anything and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Making furniture, covering walls or ceilings, as wainscoting or for making fences, animal enclosures and baseboards. It doesn't really matter; you can come up with all kinds of things to make with bamboo slats.

Bamboo slats made of pressed material are primarily suitable for interior applications. The slats are dimensionally stable and suitable for use as narrow bamboo boards or for making furniture.
