Buying Bamboo Fence - What is the Best Choice?
If you are planning to buy a bamboo fence, you have probably already seen a lot of options and possibilities. But what is the best choice?
Bamboo fences are becoming increasingly popular, not only because they are very beautiful, but also because of their sustainable and environmentally friendly properties. However, there are many different designs, colours and sizes available, which makes it not always easy to make the right choice.
At Masters of Bamboo we are happy to help you on your way, that is why we have put together this simple selection guide for you. Choose what applies to you and discover which bamboo fence suits you best.
The Detached Bamboo Fence
If a freestanding bamboo fence is to be placed between you and your neighbours, it is important that it looks the same on both sides. When placing a bamboo fence between you and your neighbours, the choice would quickly go to a fixed bamboo screen. These are mounted between the garden posts and provide a solid bamboo fence with little view through.
Fixed bamboo screens are usually made of thick poles to ensure sufficient strength. If you do not like this or your neighbors want a different fence, you can opt for a bamboo mat on a roll , bamboo slat screen or halved bamboo fences. To mount these, you will first have to make a frame of garden poles and planks on which you mount the bamboo. The neighbors can then choose how their fence will look, whether it will be a bamboo fence or a wooden fence, you can decide that yourself.
Renovating an Existing Fence
Renovating an existing fence is a good option if there is a fence that will last a while or a metal fence in, for example, new housing estates. Because the base of the fence or fence is still sturdy, you can use it perfectly for cladding.
You can renovate your fence in an affordable way and make a bamboo fence out of it. An additional advantage is that you can decide for yourself how your bamboo fence looks without this affecting the side of the neighbors.
Bamboo Fence in Different Heights or Sloping
In some situations it is fun or desirable to play with the heights, you often see this in back gardens or houses on the water. The first few bamboo fence parts are high 180 or 200 cm, after which it either slopes down or is alternated with a low bamboo fence. This way you experience privacy in a part of your garden, but you can also have a nice chat with the neighbors.
Another reason to make a part of your bamboo fence a bit lower is the view or location where you place the fence. At the water or at senior homes, lower bamboo fences are often placed to be able to look over it or for the social aspect.
Make your own Bamboo Fence
Another fun option is to make your bamboo fence from loose bamboo poles. These can be placed at different heights in the ground / concrete. If you place each pole at a different height, your bamboo fence will have a very natural and playful effect. You can determine the diameter and length of the poles yourself, which gives you great flexibility in determining how your bamboo fence will look.
The option is also there to make a bamboo fence by using the bamboo poles vertically. In this way you can choose from different diameters and lengths to determine the height and length of your bamboo fence. By playing with the lengths and diameters you can make a unique bamboo fence that you cannot buy as standard.
Making a Round Fence from Bamboo
With bamboo you can make a round garden fence in different ways. This can be realized with a bamboo mat, bamboo slats or with loose bamboo poles. For example, it can be fun to place a round bamboo fence around a jacuzzi or outdoor shower.
Bamboo Fences Extra High
By default, you may not make a bamboo fence between or behind your home higher than a maximum of two meters. In front of your home, this is a maximum of one meter high. However, there are situations in which you need a high fence. This is to cover a shed or to close off a canopy wall.
Extra high bamboo fences are available especially for these applications and can also be made from individual bamboo poles.
