Bamboo Protector is a transparent, water-based varnish with UV protection, specially developed for bamboo materials such as bamboo poles, garden fence panels, fences, bamboo fence rolls, furniture and pergolas. This varnish offers long-term protection and slows down the greying process of bamboo. Due to the transparent colour it is suitable for both natural and black bamboo.

Bamboo naturally has a repellent layer, which means that standard varnishes and lacquer do not adhere well and can quickly flake off. Bamboo Protector offers the ideal solution to this problem and ensures that bamboo products remain protected for a long time.

The varnish has a light satin sheen that beautifully accentuates the rich, natural colour of bamboo.

Please note: Bamboo Protector is not a de-greying agent. To de-grey bamboo, we recommend using a Bamboo Cleaner.

Bamboo Protector is a professional transparent bamboo varnish for all your bamboo products in the garden. Follow these simple steps to give your bamboo the right protection:

  1. Preparation
    Make sure the bamboo surface is clean, dry and free of grease before you start, to ensure perfect adhesion. (Use the Bamboo Cleaner)
  2. Stir Well Before Use
    Open the can and stir the contents well before you start. This ensures an even distribution of the protective properties.
  3. Application
    Apply Bamboo Protector with a brush. We recommend applying 2 layers for optimal protection. The second layer can be applied approximately 16 hours after the first layer.
  4. Drying time
    After application, let the Bamboo Protector dry. Dust dry after ± 1.5 hours. Tack-free after ± 4 hours. Can be painted over after ± 16 hours.
  5. Weather conditions
    Ensure that the ambient temperature is not lower than 10°C and only apply the protector in dry weather.
  6. Storage
    Store the Bamboo Protector in a dry, cool, frost-free place and out of reach of children.
  7. Annual maintenance
    To protect your bamboo products against greying in the long term, we recommend applying a new layer of Bamboo Protector annually.
