All our straw mats are available for delivery directly from stock. In the Netherlands and Belgium, we often deliver them with our own van, ensuring that your straw mat arrives in perfect condition. Because straw is a flexible and lightweight material, assembly is very easy. Attach the mat to a mesh panel or fence with tie-wraps or binding wire. Are you attaching it to wood (such as an old fence or wall)? Then use mounting screws (with a washer) or staples. For use on the ground, you can use ground pins.

Yes, it's very simple. If the mat is too long or too tall, you can easily trim or cut the straw. Use sharp pruning shears, sturdy regular scissors, or a serrated knife for this. Tip: If you shorten the mat lengthwise, make sure to tie the cut weaving threads back together securely so that the mat doesn't come apart.

Absolutely! Our Stromat Eco is made from 100% natural straw. No harmful chemicals have been used, making the mat fully ecological and biodegradable. Ideal for the environmentally conscious gardener.

Although a straw mat is a natural product that will eventually decompose, our mats have an above-average lifespan. This is due to the unique thickness of 15 mm and the extra tightly woven wires that keep everything firmly in place. The exact lifespan depends on weather conditions and the method of mounting (placing it off the ground helps prevent rising moisture). But you can expect a minimum of 5-7 years.

Compared to standard reed or split bamboo fencing rolls, our Stromat Eco offers extra privacy. Thanks to its solid structure and 15 mm thickness, the mat provides considerable opacity. Please keep in mind that it is a natural product and the stems are not perfectly straight; it will therefore never be 100% opaque, but it is highly covering.
