Mounting against an existing wall or fence

You can easily attach a split bamboo mat to an existing wall or fence with our special mounting screws. Place the screws between the bamboo strips and tighten them so that the mounting ring presses the bamboo strips firmly against the wall. Do not screw directly through the bamboo strips to prevent splitting.

Mounting to Mesh Panel, Metal Fence or Balcony

Attaching a split bamboo mat to a wire mesh panel, metal fence or balcony is easy using binding wires ortie-wraps. Bend the tie wraps around the galvanized steel wire running through the split bamboo mat and pull them tight.

Confirm as Roofing

When used as a roof covering it is important to ensure that the mat has sufficient support to prevent sagging and to extend its life. Depending on the material of the construction on which the split mat is used, we recommend using the specialmounting screws, binding wires ortie-wraps. Use sufficient mounting material to prevent blowing loose.

Customizing your Split Bamboo Mat

If you want to shorten the width of a split bamboo mat, cut the galvanized steel wires at the desired location with a pair of pliers. Be careful not to cut the wire too short, because you still need to leave a bit to fold the end back and secure it. This will keep the mat sturdy and neatly finished.


To adjust the height, you can saw or cut the bamboo strips to the desired height with sharp pruning shears. When sawing, preferably use a saw blade with fine teeth to prevent the bamboo from fraying.

Maintaining split bamboo fences is simple. Here are some tips to keep them in good condition:

  • Regular cleaning: Remove dirt, leaves, and dust from the fences by rinsing them with water or using a soft brush. This prevents dirt from accumulating and damaging the fence.
