What fastener do I need?

When you first start building something with bamboo, you might wonder what you need and how it works. On our website, you will find a User Instructions tab for each product. This explains step by step how best to assemble the product. In addition, each product clearly indicates which fastening materials you can best order together for easy and sturdy assembly.

At Masters of Bamboo, we are happy to help you and try to keep things as simple as possible. If something is still unclear, or if you have specific questions about how to best attach bamboo in your home or garden project, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to help, no problem at all.

Tying bamboo knots with (bind) rope

Build in the traditional way with bamboo by tying the parts together with knots. This can be done both constructively and decoratively, depending on your experience and craftsmanship. When tying decoratively around the bamboo, you can first secure the construction with bolts or screws. Then tie beautiful rope over it, giving your bamboo project a natural and well-maintained appearance.

At Masters of Bamboo, we sell various types of rope. The differences are clearly visible in thickness, material, and color. We exclusively offer high-quality rope types, such as manila rope, palm rope, jute, and binding twine.

Mounting bamboo with (Stainless) Steel

The most commonly used bamboo fastening material is made of stainless steel or galvanized steel. We sell a wide range of products made from these materials, so you can mount your bamboo as sturdy and durable as possible with a long lifespan. To give you a good overview, we have compiled a handy list below of what we offer.

  • Stainless Steel Mounting Sets: Suitable for hanging heavy and thick bamboo fencing screens. These sets have been developed and imported by us and are available in stainless steel or black powder-coated finish.
  • Stainless Steel (fastening) screws: Ideal for installing bamboo and natural fencing rolls.
  • Steel post holders: Suitable for placing bamboo pergolas, gazebos, rose arches and other constructions, both in the ground and on a paved surface.

Attaching bamboo with (hard) wood

Sommige klanten vragen zich af hoe je een bamboeschutting het beste kunt bevestigen. Ons advies is om hiervoor mooie, rechte hardhouten of vurenhouten palen te gebruiken. Deze palen zijn zeer geschikt om in de grond te plaatsen en met de RVS montageset kun je de bamboeschutting hier eenvoudig tussen bevestigen.

Je kunt de hardhouten palen en planken ook gebruiken om een sterk frame te maken, waartegen je een bamboemat of halfrond bamboescherm kunt schroeven.

Bamboeproducten zijn dus uitstekend te combineren met hout. De kleur van hout staat prachtig in combinatie met naturel of donkere bamboe.

Daarnaast verkopen wij hardhouten en bamboe onderliggers. Hiermee maak je een sterke fundering voor je bamboe terrasplanken. Een goede basis verlengt de levensduur van je bamboeproducten aanzienlijk.

Simply attach bamboo fencing rolls with tie-wraps

Want to quickly and easily attach your bamboo fencing rolls to an existing fence? Then use the well-known cable ties, also known as tie-wraps. We sell these made from recycled plastic in black and white colors. Wrap the cable ties around the bamboo stems, tighten them, cut them off and you're done. Fun work with a beautiful result in no time, that also stays beautiful for years.

Handy facts about bamboo and its processing

Bamboo can be compared to wood in many cases. You can saw, drill, glue, screw, split and sand it. The outer layer of bamboo is harder, so use a strong bamboo drill bit or a saw with sharp, fine teeth. The inside of a bamboo pole is hollow, keep this in mind when drilling and/or screwing.

To mount bamboo, you can use stainless steel or steel fastening materials, strong binding cord, elastic or hardwood. The choice depends on the bamboo product and what you want to make with it.

We always recommend using stainless steel screws, especially for outdoor use. Use a bamboo drill bit to pre-drill and make sure the screws are not too long, so they do not protrude from the back.

Always pre-drill bamboo with a bamboo drill and pay attention when screwing: Tight is tight, so that you don't crush the bamboo pole.

There are many companies that sell bamboo products online, but unfortunately, you can't visit them in person with questions about bamboo mounting.
