How do you use the Esterilla Bamboo Mat?

  • Customize: Easily cut the mat with a fine-toothed saw. Because the Esterilla is made of flattened bamboo poles, it can be cut to size quickly and neatly. Preferably use a sharp handsaw or jigsaw for a clean cut.
  • Mounting on a frame: Screw or staple the mat to wooden or bamboo slats, or directly to an existing frame. Always use stainless steel screws or staples. For outdoor use, to ensure a secure hold and prevent rust. Stretch the mat tightly and flat for a neat finish.
  • Cladding around posts and pillars: The Esterilla can easily be bent around round or square posts. Depending on the material, you can attach it with screws, staples, or by tying it with manila rope. This gives a natural and decorative look.
  • Pergola cladding: Do you want to use the Esterilla as roof or wall cladding on a pergola? Then screw the mat with stainless steel screws directly onto the bamboo poles. Always pre-drill first in the bamboo pole to prevent splitting and ensure the mat is secured tightly for a neat finish.
