Plant support

  • Simply stick the bamboo Tonkin sticks into the ground to guide plants and shrubs such as tomatoes, beans, grapes and flowers.
  • For extra strength, you can connect multiple Tonkin sticks together with rope or binding tube.

Customise

  • These slender bamboo sticks are easy to cut to size.

Attach & Bind

  • Securely connect bamboo Tonkin sticks with elastic, rope or tubing for constructions such as climbing frames or creative bamboo building projects.
  • Use cross-tied rope for extra stability.

Processing & Treatment

  • These Tonkin sticks can be used untreated and placed directly in the ground.
  • Want a different colour? Painting or spraying is easy on our bamboo Tonkin sticks, because paint adheres well to this type of bamboo.

Maintenance is not required when using these bamboo stakes in the ground for plant support. Want to extend their lifespan? Treat the part that goes into the ground with bamboo ground protector. However, this is not necessary, as the cost of treatment is higher than the price of the Tonkin stakes themselves.

Our advice: Use them untreated for the quickest and easiest application.

How Strong is Bamboo?

Bamboo is remarkably strong and durable; it is often compared to steel because of its high tensile strength. This means bamboo can withstand great forces without breaking. This property makes it ideal for use in construction, furniture and other products that require robustness.
