Manual: Installing the Bamboo Pole Holder Ground Peg Ø 40 mm
Want to securely anchor a bamboo pole? The Bamboo Pole Holder Ground Peg Ø 40 mm makes it easy and stable. Follow the steps below for the best results.
Step 1: Prepare the bamboo pole
Slide the bamboo pole about halfway over the pole holder. The other half of the pole holder will later be placed in the ground. Check that the pole holder fits properly into the pole. Remove any spacers (nodes) that might be blocking the insertion. If there is a node, carefully drill through it with a threaded rod or lightly tap the pole holder through it with a hammer.
Fix the pole so that it does not rest directly on the ground, to prevent moisture absorption and rot.
Next, mark the holes for the pole holder on the bamboo post and drill 8 mm holes in these spots. Temporarily mount the pole with the supplied M8 bolts, nuts, and washers to ensure all holes are drilled correctly. Then remove the post from the holder.
Step 2: Determine the correct depth
The ground spike is 90 cm long and goes approximately 45 cm into the ground.
Step 3: Place the pole holder and level it
Place the ground peg in the ground and check that it is level.
You have two mounting options:
- Option 1: Hammer directly into the ground
On firm or clay-like soil, you can hammer the pole holder directly into the ground. This provides sufficient grip and stability. - Option 2: Anchoring with cement
In softer ground, or if you want extra stability, dig a hole first. Tighten the supplied nuts and bolts in the bottom holes of the post holder (the part that goes into the ground).
Place the pole holder in the hole and pour cement around it. Let the cement harden thoroughly, then fill the hole with soil.
Step 4: Assemble the bamboo pole
Re-mount the bamboo pole onto the pole holder and secure it securely with the supplied bolts, nuts and washers.
Extending bamboo poles
You can also use the pole holder to connect two bamboo poles together, for example, for extra height or length. Make sure both bamboo poles have approximately the same diameter so the extension is barely visible.
Slide the first bamboo pole over one side of the ground peg to the center and secure it with three nuts and bolts. Then slide the second pole over the other side and secure it firmly.
This way you can easily create a longer and sturdier bamboo pole.
