Installing a budget bamboo screen

We recommend placing a bamboo slatted screen at least 5 cm above the ground, so that it does not come into direct contact with moisture. Long-term exposure to wet ground can cause discolouration over time. During placement, you can use a side board on which the bamboo budget screen can rest.

Attaching bamboo slats to existing fence

To firmly attach a bamboo slat fence to a wooden fence or wall, drill 4 mm holes through the horizontal bamboo supports that run through the screen. Do this every four bamboo slats in a horizontal direction and use 4 x 40 mm screws to secure the bamboo fence parts. Please note, fixed is fixed! Screw the budget bamboo fence firmly to the top, middle and bottom for optimum stability.

Mounting to a Grid or Fence

If you want to attach the Bamboo Screen Budget Black to a grid or fence, you can easily do this withtie-wraps. Follow these steps:

  1. Attach the bamboo fence to the fence with tie-wraps. Make sure the tie-wraps are tightened for a firm attachment.
  2. Check the screen to make sure everything is secure. Adjust the tie-wraps if necessary.

Custom made bamboo screens

A big advantage of bamboo fence panels is that they are easy to cut to size. To shorten the width of a bamboo slat screen, saw the horizontal bamboo supports to the desired width. Don't forget to first loosen the black palm rope so that you can tie it back after sawing.

Do you want to adjust the height of a budget bamboo garden screen? Then you can saw off the bamboo slats at the top and/or bottom. Use a saw blade with fine teeth for this.

TIP: Before sawing, cover the bamboo slats with tape to prevent fraying.

When used outdoors, bamboo will turn grey over time. To keep your Budget black bamboo screen in optimum condition, we recommend treating it annually with a suitable maintenance product.
