This 500 cm wide Premium Heather Mat, available in various heights, is made of young bell heather and is approximately 1 cm thick . The branches are firmly connected with galvanized steel wire. Heather mats, also known as Erica mats, are environmentally friendly and ideal as a garden divider or to create privacy. They are also perfect for growing ivy, thanks to their natural structure. This sturdy Heidemat Premium on a roll of 500 cm wide is available indifferent heightsand made of young heather. The mat is approximately 1 cm thick, and the branches are firmly tied together with galvanized steel wire, with a spacing of approximately 10 cm.

Heather mats, also known asErica matsorHeather matting, are environmentally friendly, decorative and ideal as a garden fence or to create more privacy in your garden. In addition, they are perfectly suited to growing ivy (Hedera). Thanks to the natural structure of the mat, climbing plants adhere excellently and grow evenly densely. We recommend placing a heather mat fence at least 5 cm from the ground to extend the life of the mat. When placing, use a side board on which the heather mat can rest.

  1. You can easily attach a heather mat to an existing wall or fence with our specialmounting screws. Place the screws between the branches and tighten them so that the mounting ring presses the branches against the wall.
  2. Attaching a heather mat to a wire mesh panel or metal fence is very quick and easy using binding wires ortie wraps. Bend the binding wires or tiewraps around the galvanized metal wire that runs through the heather mat and pull them tight to the metal fence. To minimize visibility, you can fold the mat in half or attach it to either side of the construction mesh.

Customize it yourself

  • You can easily shorten and cut the width of a heather mat on a roll to size by cutting the galvanized iron wires to the desired width with pliers.
  • To adjust the height of the heather mat, you can cut them to the desired height with pruning shears.

  1. Inspection and cleaning: Check the heather mats regularly for moss, algae or dirt. You can easily remove these with a soft brush or a lukewarm jet of water.
  2. Check stability: Check the attachment points (e.g. steel wire or binding materials) annually to ensure that the mat remains firmly in place and does not deform due to wind or weight.
  3. Avoiding long-term moisture retention: Make sure the mats are not in constant contact with wet ground to prevent wood rot. Preferably place them slightly above the ground.
