  2. Attaching a willow mat to a wire mesh panel or metal fence is very quick and easy using binding wires ortie-wraps. Bend the tie-wraps or binding wire around the galvanized metal wire running through the willow mat and tighten them to the fence.

Customize it yourself

  • You can easily shorten and customize the width of a willow mat on a roll by cutting the galvanized iron wires to the desired width with pliers.
  • To adjust the height of the willow mat, you can cut the willow twigs to the desired height with pruning shears.

Willow matting is easy to maintain. Because willow matting is made of natural material, it can weather over time. To extend its lifespan, you can occasionally clean the mat with water to remove dirt. Avoid using chemical cleaning agents. When used outdoors, the mat may discolour or dry out a little after a few years, but this is normal.
