This Bamboo Board 20 mm Natural is ideal for making wall shelves, shelving, furniture and other interior projects. At 2440 x 300 mm, it is a practical size that is immediately suitable for many applications and can easily be cut to size.

The bamboo board is 20 mm thick and made up of 3 layers of bamboo. This makes for a sturdy and stable construction. The side pressed bamboo strips give the surface a fine linear structure and a calm, natural look.

Natural bamboo with a sleek look

The light natural colour shows off the character of bamboo beautifully. Thanks to the side pressed strips, the board has a fine, even structure that suits both modern and natural interiors.

Bamboo is a natural product. Small differences in colour, structure and grain are part of the material and give every bamboo board its own character.

Strong 3-ply construction

The board consists of three layers of bamboo and is 20 mm thick. This multi-layer construction provides good stability and makes the board suitable for a wide range of interior and furniture applications.

With a width of 300 mm, this version is especially practical when you need long, narrow pieces. You don't have to cut a large bamboo panel to width first.

The bamboo board is easy to work with. With regular woodworking tools you can easily saw, mill and drill the board. We recommend always using sharp tools for a clean result.

Working a bamboo wall shelf to size

  • Sawing: Use a saw blade with fine teeth to minimise splintering and make a neat, straight cut.
  • Drilling: Use sharp wood drill bits or a bamboo drill bit and always pre-drill, so the bamboo doesn't split during fixing.
  • Milling: For a clean finish on corners and edges, the board is easy to mill.
  • Sanding: Saw cuts, edges and the surface can be lightly sanded if necessary before you finish the board.
  • Gluing: For suitable applications, bamboo parts can be glued with a good wood glue. Always choose a glue that suits the application and the conditions in which the board will be used.

Fixing and finishing

  • Fixing: Mount the board with wall brackets, concealed shelf supports or countersunk screws, depending on the desired look and the weight the board has to carry.
  • Finish: To preserve the natural look of the board and protect it against dirt and moisture, we recommend finishing it with our specially developed bamboo lacquer: Bamboo Topcoat.

Supplied untreated: protect the board after processing

The Bamboo Board 20 mm Natural is supplied untreated. For a longer service life, we recommend finishing the board after sawing and working it. Treat not only the surface, but also the edges and saw cuts.

For protection against dirt, stains and moisture, we recommend Bamboo Topcoat Lacquer. This finish helps preserve the natural look of the bamboo.

Are you using the board somewhere it may regularly come into contact with moisture? Then make sure all sides, edges, drill holes and saw cuts are carefully finished, and avoid prolonged contact with water.

Please note: Conventional lacquers and turpentine-based lacquers can affect the colour of the bamboo. If in doubt, first test a finish on a small, non-visible area.

Maintaining bamboo boards

A finished bamboo board is easy to keep clean. Remove dust with a soft cloth and use a slightly damp cloth for dirt. Then dry the board.

Avoid aggressive cleaning products and do not let water stand on the surface for long periods. With intensive use, check the protective layer regularly. If it is worn or damaged in places, touch up the finish in good time.

How Strong is Bamboo?

Bamboo is remarkably strong and durable; it is often compared to steel because of its high tensile strength. This means bamboo can withstand great forces without breaking. This property makes it ideal for use in construction, furniture and other products that require robustness.
